QUESTIONS WE GET
Straight answers.
The Sachet Lab is a small-batch liquid sachet co-packer in Colorado that specializes in first production runs, with launches starting at 6,000 pouches and a published $9,500 Launch Package covering formulation, FDA paperwork, and filling.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Launches start at 6,000 pouches. The Launch Package covers 6,000 to 10,000 finished pouches, depending on pouch size and cook time, which is the range where per-pouch pricing works best. Contact us if you're scoping something smaller.
How much does liquid sachet co-packing cost?
Our Launch Package is $9,500 and covers recipe finalization, sourcing direction, FDA paperwork, and your first production run. Repeat runs start at $0.35 per sachet, depending on pouch size, cook time, and volume. We confirm final pricing after recipe review.
What makes a run more expensive?
Three things drive cost: cook time, prep, and pouch size. A product that cooks longer leaves less time to fill, so fewer pouches come off the line per day. Ingredient prep like chopping, hydrating, or particulate handling adds labor before the kettle. And larger pouches mean fewer finished units per batch. A fast-cooking sauce in a 1-ounce sachet is the cheapest thing we run.
What products can you fill?
Liquid products including condiments, hot sauces, dressings, marinades, and syrups in single-serve sachets and pillow pouches from 0.5 to 2 ounces. We cook from scratch in 25 to 125 gallon steam kettles and hot fill on a vertical form-fill-seal line.
Can you fill refrigerated or chunky products?
We hot fill shelf-stable products only, so refrigerated formulas are out of scope. Particulates under 5mm can usually be accommodated but need to be tested on our line before we commit to a run.
Do I need a finished recipe?
No. The Sachet Lab is the launch line of Scale Food Labs, an FDA-registered food science company. We can develop your product from an idea, adapt a home or restaurant recipe for production, or run a recipe that is already dialed in.
Who handles the FDA paperwork?
We do. Process filing and compliance documentation for shelf-stable liquid products are included in the Launch Package and handled by our food science team at our FDA-registered facility.
Who supplies the packaging film and ingredients?
Either works. Supply your own printed film and ingredients, or add sourcing and we coordinate qualified ingredients and packaging for your run.
My product is already made somewhere else. Can you run reorders?
Yes. If your product is in production elsewhere and you need sachet volume, contact us with your formula and current process and we'll scope the run.
How long does a first production run take?
Timelines depend on where your recipe stands and packaging lead times. Your quote includes a projected schedule after recipe review.
Where are you located?
Our FDA-registered facility is in the Denver metro area in Colorado. We work with brands nationwide and ship finished pallets anywhere in the US.
What happens when I outgrow your line?
Nothing here locks you in. Your formula, process letter, and documentation are built to travel with the product from day one. When your volume outgrows our line, our co-man search add-on finds your next-size manufacturer and we manage the handoff. You leave with a proven product and a complete technical package any co-man can run.
